One of the biggest frustrations for an interviewing officer is watching an applicant dodge a question or try to steer the conversation toward a more favorable topic. It rarely works in the applicant&#8217;s favor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Answer exactly what the officer asks, and resist the urge to change the subject, even when a question feels uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How should I conduct myself during my interview?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Humility matters more than confidence in a visa interview. Avoid coming across as overconfident, smug, or confrontational at any point. Show appreciation for the opportunity you&#8217;ve been given, and let a genuine, straightforward demeanor do the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officers notice the difference between someone being real with them and someone performing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Should I memorize my answers before the interview?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No, memorizing answers ahead of time can actually work against you.
